Take a peek at some of our photos...the butterflies were extremely difficult to photograph because they were moving so fast!

Butterflies, butterflies all around us!
Today, my honeybunny and I visited Butterfly World in Coconut Creek. I've always wanted to go because I LOVE butterflies. It was great! At first, I was a bit overwhelmed by all the butterflies flying around me, but by the end of our visit Richard had to practically drag me out of there because I was trying to get one to land on me. One of our favorites was the bright blue morpho peleides butterfly similar to the morpho banded one in the photo above. They also have a nice bug zoo and an awesome aviary where we shot tons of photos of beautiful hummingbirds, finches and more. I can so see myself going back there! I really enjoyed it.
Of course, the gift shop was tempting and I ended up getting a set of vintage birds and nests rubber stamps and vintage butterfly postcards from Cavallini & Co. to make a mini scrapbook to document our amazing day. I just love butterflies...and birds, too!
I'll post some of our butterfly and bird photos later this week...

I WANT THIS!!!!
Some of you know that I've been slowly working on my scrapbook room to make it into a place that truly reflects my creative side and captures my personality. Well, I have finally come up with the rustic and vintage-like style I like (my Mom would be so proud of this style!). I found these beauties at PotteryBarn.com, one of my all-time favorite stores, and at Target.com, another favorite! So, I know my b-day isn't till October 16 (hmm), but it's never too soon to start a wish list, right? Ha, ha, ha! :-) Check out these pics (there are more "wish list" links to the right). In the next few months, we hope to have wood floors in all the bedrooms. I cannot wait to complete this room project...
Peace and happy scrappin!

I just want to say THANKS to Tricia at Cocoa Daisy because she is the best. Not only does she put together awesome kits every month, but she is also great with people and has the best customer service. Looks like I'll definitely be renewing my subscription there! Check out the May kit, Age of Aquarius. Very cool and funky! I can't wait to play with it!

I cannot wait to scrap with Yayi and Damaris and then with Rena, Barbara aand Anilu later this month! Yeah!!! (I am in serious need of a stress reliever!)
That's all for now...

Words that speak to me
I came across this quote on Kelly Bryan's blog (she got it from Karen Russell's blog)... I can so relate!
"I am aware that I am less than some people prefer me to be. But most people are unaware that I am so much more than what they see." - Douglas Pagels
Back to Kelly, I really enjoy reading her blog. She was giving birth to her baby girl today and I can almost share all the excitement with her as I read her blog and see the photos of the baby's nursery that she posted... Beautiful!
Gee, is God speaking to me? My maternal instincts may just be kicking in... this morning I watched Martina McBride sing this beautiful song on the TODAY Show. I think it was called, "In my daughter's eyes." Loved it! :-)

Scrapologie and interview questions...
Have you seen the Scrapologie kit for May? I just got mine today and I love it. I cannot wait to play with it... Look at this beauty! Get yours before they're all gone.
Here's the interview Anilu sent me:
1. What's your guilty pleasure? Wow... I guess it's Coach.
2. Do you collect anything? What? I do have a small turtle collection that I've picked up during my travels.
3. Fave TV show? House
4. What was the best day of your life so far? I have no idea! I really love it when my family comes together because it rarely happens, so maybe my wedding day because it brought everyone together...even those who don't normally interact with each other. Or maybe it was during our honeymoon when we went to Paris and I was at the Eiffel Tower or when we woke up and we were in Hawaii for my birthday... I LOVE to travel anywhere with my honey!
5. Your absolute fave food? Hmm, probably sushi
Wanna be interviewed? Leave me a comment saying, “Interview me,” and include your email address. I will respond by emailing you five questions for you to answer. I get to pick the questions. You will then update your blog with the answers to the questions and include this explanation, as well as an offer to interview someone else in the same post. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.
Bye for now!

Why do I scrapbook?
After reading some emails and surfing scrapbook websites, I was just asking myself, "Why do I scrapbook?" Well, in case you're interested, this is why...
It is therapeutic for me. It allows me to relax and unwind. It is my creative outlet. Because our lives are filled with so many memories that were meant to be preserved. Because I am the family historian and I want my family and friends to be remembered. I want my future children to know who I am, what their daddy is like, what drives us, what we're passionate about and how much we will love them. It makes me think happy thoughts and takes away any sadness in my life. My scrapbook room is my HAPPY ROOM. I also love just simply looking at my stash of paper and ribbon and stamps and rub-ons and all else and loving what I see. I love the smell of paper as much as I love it when I'm handed a new magazine or book that's just been printed. Vibrant colors and inks make me happy and I'm always thinking of layouts in my mind while looking at cool patterns and details in my everyday life...it's just too bad I don't have time to scrapbook it all, but in my mind, I have probably created thousands of layouts! I think that scrapbooking, in a way, defines who I am simply because I scrapbook about things that I love, care about, wish for and dream about. Because I cherish my surroundings and I embrace the love that I feel everyday. I scrap to create, to celebrate and because it's just plain cool. Oh, and because I love to shop and add to my stash. Simply put, scrapbooking makes me happy.
I think I'll do a layout about this...inspired by "clean and simple scrapbooking, the sequel" by Cathy Zielske. I just LOVE her. If you haven't seen this book, go check it out! Here's a picture of me with my copy of the book at the end of a looooong day at the Scrapbook Expo in Orlando this past March. Yayi, Damaris and I had an absolute blast!
Peace to all and happy scrapping!

I'm sick, but I wanted to share this Miami story...
I wanted to post this yesterday, but I've been ill. Turns out I have an ear and throat infection. Don't ask me how I got it since I wasn't ill with the flu or anything. I just developed a really bad ear ache Sunday night and before I knew it there it was! Bang! An ear and throat infection. :-(
But, even with this bad ear ache and constant sleepy feeling I have right now, I wanted to let you know about how I spent my Sunday afternoon... My hubby and I went out to Matheson Hammock park to exercise and we had a fabulous day! The weather was picture-perfect. We walked for a couple of hours throughout the park, catching a glimpse of different fishies and birds, watching the boats out in the distant ocean and enjoying the tranquil scenery, the mangroves and the view of downtown. Ahhh! All my worries seemed to disappear at that very moment. On days like this, I wish I had my camera, but I didn't. At the end, we stopped to watch the boaters launch their vessels in the water... and some struggle to take them out! That was entertaining. Matheson Hammock is so beautiful. This really is a wonderful part of living in Miami.
