Back from vacation...

Hi my friends!

WOW!!! What an exciting and memorable vacation Richard and I had in the BVI (with a stop over in the USVI, too). I am back home now, but I still want to keep swimming and visiting these picture-perfect beaches over and over again. We couldn't get enough of them...

Our first week was spent on board the Cuan Law, a 105-ft. trimaran sailboat. It was more than I could have expected. It's huge and quite luxurious. We had a spacious cabin, a private bathroom, a chef that cooked delicious cuisine all day long, the opportunity for water activities and swimming, more diving than one could ever imagine (Richard went on 18 dives in just 6 days) and an all-around great crew and friendly fellow passengers. It was awesome even for me and I am not a diver! I did get pretty sick during the second half of the week because there was a stomach flu going around the islands and three of us came down with it so I was pretty much out of commission for a while... I also took quite a tumble since I was in bed down below feeling ill when we hit the open water for an advanced dive. When the waves got rough, I was thrown from the bed, slammed against the wall and landed on the floor wrapped up in my bed sheets. Talk about a rude awakening! LOL! Thankfully, I was just a bit sore and didn't really care all that much since my tummy was still pretty bad at that time. Richard walked in and found me on the floor. Later on in the week, he also got some bruises and injuries from the dives and stuff, but it didn't matter! I'm telling you, the trip was amazing. During the day we would swim and dive in various areas and then anchor in a calm bay for the night. We visited many of the islands in the BVI and explored lots of new stuff.

After coming back to land, I was still a little ill, but we managed to get out and about and visit some other islands each day via ferry. We hung out with Foxy at Jost, swam the most amazing beach in Anegada, hiked and swam in St. John and we even hiked to the highest point in all of the Virgin Islands (1640 feet) at Sage Mountain (yeah, I complained on the way up and I especially complained when my DH got us lost on the way down and we took the VERY looooong way back...) I can go on and on about the places we visited, the beaches we swam at and the adventures we encountered, but let me just leave you with a few more of my fave photos. I already burned them all onto CD's and edited them down to just over three hundred.

So, how do I plan to scrap this trip, you ask? Well, I am pretty much going to follow the same formula I used for my Spain album because it worked out really well. I am going to print and insert all my edited images into 4x6" photo sleeves from We R Memory Keepers, place them in a 12x12 D-ring album from American Crafts, create an opening page showing our trip itinerary, and scrap only the photos that really call out to me. I have been hoarding all my MM Passport papers, alphas and embellies, including my Work in Progress July kit just for this trip so I can't wait to play!!! I am very excited and looking forward to scrapping.

Thanks for letting me babble for a while about my vacation. I hope you are all enjoying your summer (and let's pray that Tropical Storm Fay doesn't give us too much to worry about!).

Peace and happy scrapping!

Awwwww how gorgeous these pictures look...and how fun it must have been. I LOVE the beach and the sand and my favorite of all is the sound of palm trees.
The way you did your Spain album is a wonderful idea and it looks gorgeous too. I've done something like it and its the best when you have many great pics.
