Making Memories, Birthdays and More

Hi my scrappy friends!

Today, I'm playing catch up on projects and I wanted to post some pics of the past week, including this photo of my latest layout using The Scarlet Lime's March kit with Making Memories goodies. I love this entire collection! :-) I'm hoping to scrap some more pages today with the kit...

(Click on the photos below to view them larger.)

Last week, we celebrated my Mami's 82nd birthday!!! How exciting. We are so blesssed to have her here with us and she looked so pretty. Her wonderful nurse, Ednis, takes such good care of her... she bathed her, dressed her, fixed her hair, put on some make-up and jewelry, and voila!!! What an amazing day!!!

My DH must have had one wine glass too many because he cut people out of this photo! LOL!

And here's Mami making funny faces with my Stepdad... she also asked for some wine!

It was also my Godson, D'Angelo's, 9th birthday so here's a pic of us together. I love this awesome kid and I'm so lucky to be his Godmother. I'm so proud of him -- he will always be my "angel."

Easter Sunday was not what we expected. We didn't celebrate or do anything because my father-in-law was in the hospital with Bronchitis and other complications. Thankfully, he was sent home on Wednesday and he is now recovering. I love him very much and I'm so happy that he is getting better! While in the hospital, I snapped this photo of my MIL holding his hand and she was caressing him. After 40-something years of marriage, this is what life is all about. Family and love: Priceless.

Thanks for stopping by. Hugs to all and happy scrapping!

I'm baaack!!!!

I missed you all so much, but life gets in the way of my blogging sometimes! It's all good. I'm finally feeling better from my Thyroiditis, Bronchitis (times two), Sinus Infection, etc. What a way to begin the year, huh? Work is busier than ever and I have to say that being busy is a good thing these days.

Protecting the Head... Some Like It Hot...
The Biq Squeeze... Great Pretenders...

No, it's not an x-rated movie! This is some of the signage on display in the Reptile Exhibit at Miami's Metrozoo. Lou and I noticed a trend here! LOL! Anyway, my DH and I participated in the Walk to Cure Diabetes for Natalia, Anilu's little angel. We had such a fantastic day together and it's all for a great cause and because we love Nati! I hadn't had this much fun in a loooong time so thank you girls (and guys). I can't wait to get together again soon!

Here's a great picture of Nati...

Then it was off to a yummy-licious Mexican lunch at Guadalajara Restaurant. I had Tacos al Pastor and a refreshing strawberry Margarita.

And we got to take care of my wonderful Godson, D'Angelo, who was on his best behavior so he got a little treat from me at the gift shop...

That night, we celebrated our friend, Emilio's, birthday at Taverna Opa in South Beach. I was exhausted and still a little under the weather, but we still had a good time!

Here's Emilio dancing on the table...

And speaking of birthdays, there are four more b-days to celebrate this week!!! My Mami turned 82 and my DH's grandma is 81! Plus, my mother-in-law and my Godson also have birthdays this week... Busy, busy! Here's a pic of Meri, Richard's grandma, looking beautiful as always.

This weekend will be full of family time and lots of cheer so I'm sure I'll have lots more pics soon... Plus, I want to try and squeeze in a little scrapping at some point (wish me luck!)

Peace to all, Happy Easter and happy scrapping!!!

Look what's coming in the mail this month...

This delicious kit from Cocoa Daisy, along with some yummy add-ons! I'm loving those Fancy Pants crocheted flowers, the Hambly, KI lace cardstock, the new AC Accent Thickers, the corrugated letters, the owl stamp, Love Elsie and more... the colors are rich and there's a nice, unexpected mix of various manufacturers. Love that.

Aside from this eye candy, there's not much happening on the homefront since I've had Bronchitis for about a month now! I will be back to my scrappin self soon! :-)

In the meantime, I've been in bed reading this and this and getting inspired. Oh, and I found a project that I really liked on the Pink Paislee Blog so check it out.

Peace and happy scrapping!

I'm sick (again!), but here's some eye candy...

Can you believe that I am sick again with Bronchitis?! Apparently, I had a relapse and I'm feeling awful! I am back on heavy antibiotics and trying to get some rest. I'm cranky because work won't leave me alone. How is one supposed to rest when all I'm getting are emails and phone calls with issues at the office?! OK, I know, it goes with the job.

Now on to some visual stimulation (AKA eye candy). I had already purchased this amazing March kit from The Scarlet Lime and now I have to show you some of the projects that Wilna created as the guest designer this month. I am in awe of her talent. Isn't this amazing? I can totally see myself lifting some of this! (But I need more walls!)

That's all. Now I need to get some rest (for real). Hugs to all!

New Layouts, Weekend Creative and an Anniversary

Yep. It's been a good weekend.

I finally got to visit Mami (after having to stay away because I've been so sick with Bronchitis). My DH and I celebrated our 4-year "engagement anniversary". He proposed to me on Feb. 29, 2004, so it's a special day for us. I got these beautiful flowers and a lobster dinner. Yum!

I also got some "ME" time so I played a little and made some LO's. I was very inspired my Jenny Bowlin and her gallery so I scraplifted away! :-) I love this blue and tangerine paper line...

It's hard to tell, but the butterflies are all pop-ups!

This is a very cool page I lifted, but it's too bad the photo didn't come out that great (sorry guys, but the Bazill Bling paper and my flash don't like each other).

Also, I decided to give it a go at Ali's Weekend Creative project, so here's quick layout I whipped up!

That's all for now! I'm still working on my scrap room... cleaning, purging, reorganizing and trying to see how I can fit another IKEA Expedit bookcase in here! I love those things! LOL!

Oh, by the way... One of our LSS's, Scrapbooks 'n Stuff, is having a garage sale on March 16 from 12-5 and I already reserved my table so please come by if you're in the Miami area. There will be lots of goodies for you to see and buy that day.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Peace and happy scrapping!

P.S. If you're heading to the movie theater, go see Vantage Point! It's full of drama and lots of action. Loved it!
